For veterinarians & veterinary clinics
Veterinary dental work &
dental technology for animals
Animal patients need healthy teeth too. Heinzmann-Zahntechnik produces crowns and specialised orthodontic solutions for dogs – master-supervised, digitally planned and in close collaboration with veterinarians and veterinary clinics throughout Germany.
Dental technology for animal patients
Dental problems restrict animals considerably in everyday life – when eating, when playing, and in their work as service or sporting dogs. Veterinary dentistry has developed strongly in recent years; high-quality dental technical restorations for animals nevertheless remain a rare speciality.
Heinzmann-Zahntechnik is one of the few dental laboratories in Germany closing that gap: we apply the dental technical experience built up since 1968, together with modern digital manufacturing, to the requirements of veterinary medicine.
Dental restorations for dogs: crowns and tooth correction
Fractured or heavily worn canine teeth are common in dogs – for example after trauma, through intensive chewing or in service dog work. An individually manufactured crown restores the function of the tooth and permanently protects the remaining tooth substance.
We produce crowns for dogs from robust, biocompatible and MDR-compliant materials that withstand the high chewing forces in an animal's dentition – digitally designed and precisely finished by hand.
Specialised orthodontic solutions
Malpositions of individual teeth – such as inward-tilted canines biting into the palate – can be corrected using individually designed appliances for tooth and jaw regulation.
Each of these restorations is a one-off construction: planned together with the treating veterinarian, designed digitally in the laboratory and produced personally by MDT Oliver Heinzmann.
Working with veterinarians & veterinary clinics
The process is reassuringly simple: the impression or scan and the treatment are handled by the veterinary clinic – design and manufacturing are handled by us, with digital planning (CAD/CAM, 3D printing) and master-level finishing. We stay in close professional contact throughout the case.
Do you have an unusual case? Give us a call – we advise personally and develop the right solution together. Our base is the master laboratory in Heppenheim on the Bergstrasse; through our courier service and nationwide shipping we work with veterinary clinics throughout Germany.
Frequently asked questions
Which animals do you produce dental restorations for?
Primarily for dogs – for example crowns for damaged canine teeth or orthodontic appliances for tooth and jaw correction. Other animal patients are treated as individual case-by-case solutions following personal consultation with the treating veterinary practice.
How does collaboration with the veterinary clinic work?
The impression or scan and the treatment itself are carried out by the veterinary clinic or practice. On this basis we design and produce the restoration in the laboratory – in close professional coordination, with digital planning and master-level finishing.
Which materials are used for veterinary dental work?
We use robust, biocompatible and MDR-compliant materials adapted to the particular loads in an animal's dentition – durable, safe and individually matched to the case in question.
Are there dentures for dogs?
A removable set of dentures of the kind familiar from human dentistry is not usual for dogs – a dog would not tolerate a loose denture. Dental restorations for dogs therefore mean fixed solutions: crowns for damaged canine teeth and orthodontic appliances. Whether a restoration is an option is decided by the treating veterinary practice.
